DEGREES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Professor Kurt Burneo holds a PhD in Business Administration from the University Ramón Llull-Esade, Spain, and a Master’s Degree in Economics from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Peru (Cum Laude). He has also been an Ex–Posgraduaçao fellow in Economics at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, and he holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Universidad de San Marcos, Peru.

 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Professor Kurt Burneo has been the Research and Development Vice President at San Ignacio de Loyola University, and the Director of the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington D.C., United States. He has been the Minister of Production during Ollanta Humala’s government, the Director of the Economics Department at San Ignacio de Loyola University, and the Director of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru. Professor Kurt Burneo has also been the Executive Chairman of the National Bank (Banco de la Nación), Chairman of the Board at the National Bank, Chairman of the Expenditure Committee at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Deputy Director of the class “B” stocks at the Andean Development Corporation (CAF), Deputy Minister of Finance at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Advisor to the Budget and Economy Committee of the Peruvian Congress from 1995 to 1998, and Researcher and Consultant to the Advisory Center.

Professor Burneo has more than 24 years of teaching experience. He is a specialist in courses related to finance and economy and has worked at several universities in Peru, such as: Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, San Ignacio de Loyola University, San Martín de Porres University, and Federico Villarreal National University.

CURRENT POSITION

Dr. Kurt Burneo currently is the Head of the Research Department, and Professor and Researcher at the Finance, Business Economics, and Accounting department at CENTRUM Católica Graduate Business School. He is also Consultant in financial and economic matters to the National Service of Protected Natural Areas (SERNANP), the Quality National Institute (INACAL), Nettalco industries, among others, and Advisor to the Board Chairman of Grupo Comercial Malsa S.A.
