DEGREES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Professor D’Alessio, Vice admiral of the Peruvian Navy, holds a Doctor of Business Administration from University of Phoenix, United States, a D.Eng., Master of Science, and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, a M.Sc. in General Management from Salve Regina University, United States, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Sciences from the Peruvian Naval Academy. Professor D’Alessio graduated from the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. He also holds a Diploma in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College, United States, and has completed specialization studies at Babson College, London Business School, and Harvard Business School.

 

EXPERIENCE

Professor Fernando D’Alessio has been the Permanent Peruvian Representative for the Diplomatic Mission in the International Maritime Organization (London, United Nations), where he led the Committee on Technical Cooperation in 1999. He has been the Director of the steering committee for administrative efficiency and process automation optimization (total quality and process reengineering project) at the Ministry of Energy and Mines. He has been member of the Special Committee on Privatization at Petróleos de Perú S.A., member of the board of directors at several companies, such as: P&A., D’Onofrio S.A., SIMA-Perú and Naviera Comercial. Chairman of “ETECEN” power transmission company. Professor D’Alessio has been the Director at several institutions, such as: The Naval Graduate School (qualification), Center for Tactical Simulation, Naval War College, Naval Academy, and the Center for Nuclear Studies. Director General of Materials and Commander-in-Chief of Naval Operations. He is member of the AACSB International Board of Directors (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) from 2006 to 2012, and Vice President of the Peruvian Association of Human Resources (APERHU) from 2010 to 2012.

Professor Fernando D’Alessio has been university professor, researcher and national and international consultant since 1973. He is a Visiting Professor at the University of Miami, Escuela de Alta Dirección y Administración (EADA) and Instituto de Empresa (IE) in Spain. In addition, he is an Honorary Professor at Maastricht School of Management. He is a specialist in mechanical-electrical and nuclear power control systems. Also, in the field of business administration, Professor D’Alessio is focused on operations, logistics, strategic management, and leadership.

He is member of international boards and committees, such as:

He is a writer and newsreader at several newspapers, such as: El Comercio and Gestión, and magazines such as Business, MBA International, Presencia, Revista de Marina, La Banca, Enfoque Económico and Strategia. He began his research on leadership and the personal attributes influencing on leadership with his doctoral dissertation entitled “The Influence of Personality, Critical Thinking, and Emotional Intelligence Attributes in Peruvian Managers Leadership”. It is nowadays used at the Strategy and Leadership Center at CENTRUM Católica.

 

CURRENT POSITION

Professor Fernando D’Alessio currently is the Minister of Health in Peru, and Principal Professor and Researcher at the Strategy, Leadership and Management department at CENTRUM Católica Graduate Business School.

He is also member of AACSB International Board (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). Member of the Committee of Issues on Management Education (CIME) in Tampa, Florida. Chairman of the Latin American and Caribbean Advisory Council for AACSB International. Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter Officer for CENTRUM Católica since 2011. Member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Society Board. Member of the Board of the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). Member of the International Advisory Committee of EADA business school. Member of the Advisory Committee of Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT). Member of the A.B. Freeman School of Business Council, Tulane University. Professor D’Alessio is the founding member of CENTRUM Católica Graduate Business School.
